Application Licensing Model

General Licensing Model Terms for licensing AMP's software authorize one user and one physical hardware device per software instance. All My Papers applications and demos are a one-time purchase and require runtime licenses. There are no per click fees. Each computer using All My Papers software technology requires a runtime license. The licenses are issued in classes based on feature/function and speed/throughput. Licenses are sold for specific machines and users. AMP uses the "one user, one core" license model. For details, see the License text loaded during the installation of the software. Development and Deployment licenses are sold separately so that you can develop and test your application before committing to deployment licensing or hardware.

Deployment Licensing

Each PC/Server using AMP software must have the appropriate runtime license. Deployment Runtime licensing is sold on the basis of features selected for deployment and maximum processing speed of the application. The software starts out at maximum speed until it reaches the pre-determined limit. AMP licensing terms authorize one user and one physical hardware device per software instance.

Virtual Machine Licensing

Technologies that create virtual environments with either separate machine identities or separate administrative rights are creating virtual OS environments that require the appropriate licensing of any applications configured to run in those virtual OS environments. Virtual processors are considered to have the same number of threads and cores as each physical processor in the underlying physical hardware system. In addition to the standard terms and conditions for the AMP product being licensed, the licensee agrees not to copy or transfer a license to another hardware computer by "cloning", or via any other method, from the single computer that the software was originally licensed for. License Installation and Error Code 107

The License Manager Software allows the licensing of individual computers via the internet. Evaluation licenses, limited time licenses, feature set and feature upgrades licenses are all supported. An error code 107 indicates a nonexistent or non-valid license codes.

SPEED AND PROCESSOR OPTION LICENSES All options are available for single and multi core processors at speeds ranging from 0.5 to 1280 images per second per server. Speed licenses determine the theoretical maximum throughput of an application. Actual performance will vary depending on hardware, image quality, number of functions called and other factors.

License Transfer

  • Replacing a license on a PC that has crashed or
  • Transferring a license to another PC or
  • Moving to a new Operating System or Virtual Machine environment

Moving a license can be complex process and All My Papers has a new License Manager to help. All My Papers has new License Manager Software for transferring licenses from one computer to another, or to a Virtual Machine environment or upgrading to a new Operating System.

All My Papers supports license transfers from one machine to another which has the same environment as part of maintenance.  Moving from Windows XP to Win 7 is supported at no cost but moving from a non VM to VM may require a new license and generally will take a couple of days of testing.

Why would the process be complex? First it is very common for the workstation user and even the manager to not know what licenses they have.  They know the brand (All My Papers) and the  product (eg X9 Viewer) but do not know the specific licensed features. The licensed features are described in the purchase order but often, when and who purchased the product, is different than the end-user who utilizes the product.

AMP has created a new License Environment Questionnaire to identity both the new environment and the old environment. Filling this out in advance will help both licensee and the licensor to ensure a smooth transition in moving a license:

Another advantage of the new License Manger (LM), is that it converts a deleted Permanent license into a 30 day temp license. Transferring a permanent license requires removal of the current permanent license, the new LM deletion process gives time to install and test new temporary licenses and then to install the new perm licenses while the old machine is still running. Assuming your organization is current on maintenance, this is the process for moving a license.

Please follow these steps:

  1. Confirm that annual maintenance is current.
  2. Identify the Purchase Order under which this license was acquired.
  3. Fill in the license move questionnaire and return to This questionnaire is available at this link
  4. Once the above has been completed, download and install the new License Manager software.
  5. Go into the All My Papers License Manager software and click on Show License (You can take a screen shot of this page and send it to us as well if you do not know the original license code that was installed on this machine. This will help us send the correct replacement license.) The LM About box provides a way to convey all the current machine license information. Once this is sent, a new Temp license can be sent and used for testing in the new environment
  6. Before a new permanent license is installed, the old license must be deleted and a deletion code generated at that time must be sent to All My Papers. The deleted license will turn into a 30 day temporary license. Click on the license you want to delete and press Shift-DEL . This will give you a code to confirm the deletion of the license.

  8. In addition, please fax a Certificate of Destruction that can be downloaded HERE to 408-366-6406. Please include what Authorization Code and Product Code you will be transferring. Once we receive the fax and code, then we can send you a new license.
  9. Moving to a Virtual Machine  environment from a non VM machine requires a new license to be purchased.

X9 VIEWER® Licensing and Deployment Models

All My Papers has evolved various and flexible licensing models for the deployment of the X9 VIEWER application to meet customer demand and requirements.

X9 VIEWER and X9 VIEWER DE are Windows-based applications for the viewing, analysis and editing of check Image Cash Letter (ICL/UCD/187/X9.37) files (VIEWER) and rapid data-entry and correction of MICR data and dollar amounts (VIEWER DE)  Click here for more information

Because check image cash letters contain sensitive financial data, organizations may want to restrict some users to viewing only and permit others users to edit the check ICL file data.  Access to editing and data entry functions may be controlled on a workstation license basis.

The X9 VIEWER can be also be licensed to work with ICL files with fewer than 10,000 items or with any number of items per file.

ICL file size can approach the 2GB limit and contain over 40,000 check items and images. The X9 Viewer can efficiently access files located on other network resources but is most efficient if the ICL file is on the same hard disk as the application.

Desktop Workstation License

X9 Viewer can be purchased and installed on individual desktop workstations. This is the standard license.


Server Licensing

Organizations that use Remote Terminal Services (E.g. Remote Desktop, Citrix) can install both the VIEWER and the license manager on a Remote Terminal Services server to conveniently provide Viewing or Viewing/Editing at any workstation from one to 62 users at a time limited only by the number of concurrent user licenses purchased.


Distributed Licensing

Similar to Server Licensing described above but used when AMP applications are installed locally on workstations and licensing is provided from a server.  Provides Viewing or Viewing/Editing at any workstation for up to 62 users at a time limited by the number of concurrent user licenses purchased.
